Spread an appropriate layer of substrate across the bottom of the terrarium depending on the needs of your pet. Burrowing species require a deeper layer so they can create tunnels and shelters. For tropical species, lightly moisten the substrate and maintain humidity by misting daily. While coconut chips naturally help control odours, daily spot cleaning is recommended. For best results and hygiene, replace the entire substrate at least every 6 months.
