AdzAquatics began with Adam’s lifelong fascination with animals. What started as a small hobby and a rehome of some clownfish, it quickly grew into something far greater. At the time, it felt like nothing more than an unachievable dream. However, after producing and selling some of his home-bred clownfish, that dream suddenly began to feel possible. That moment flipped a switch, and Adam realised he wanted to turn his passion into a full-time business.
 

Like many people, Adam initially followed the path encouraged at school and built a career in industries that seemed like the right choice. Despite finding success, something always felt missing, a dream, a mission, and a true sense of purpose. In the end, he naturally found himself returning to the passion that had been with him since childhood,  animals.
 

Through constant research and hands-on experience caring for his animals, Adam became increasingly aware of ethical concerns within the aquatic hobby. One of the most significant issues was the capture of animals from their natural habitats and their transportation across the world in poor conditions. For Adam, this was never about profit, but about reducing the stress, harm, and unnecessary loss of life often involved in the capture and distribution of wild animals for the ornamental pet trade.
 

Recognising this problem, Adam envisioned making a difference, building a brand focused entirely around captive-bred animals. From that moment, the mission was clear: to help change the industry for the better. Rather than chasing quick profits, Adam made a commitment that still defines AdzAquatics today, responsible captive breeding. Because of this, we will never sell wild-caught animals from our premises.
